Why Aren’t More Conservatives Talking about Daily Caller Writer’s Misogyny?

Tucker Carlson, Editor of Daily Caller

Tucker Carlson, Editor of Daily Caller

If an editor of a high profile, politically conservative publication and his brother send condescending, and/or  pornographic, sexist emails to, of all people, Mayor de Blasio’s Director of Public Affairs, are we not allowed to call them out just because we’re conservative too?

We have come to expect obscene, disgusting diatribes from nihilistic liberals, but when so-called conservatives like Daily Caller’s Tucker and Buckley Carlson join the debauched, foul-mouthed left’s bandwagon, does Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment still apply?

The scurrilous and allegedly personal emails prompted the New York Post to give a rundown of the controversy and opine on how a “conservative celebrity” like Tucker Carlson could excuse his brother Buckley’s raunchy, abusive response to Amy Spitalnick of de Blasio’s office.  The NY Post declined to publish the most offensive email originally obtained by  Buzzfeed because it “is unprintable in a family paper.”

The fracas started when Spitalnick asked Daily Caller writer Peter Fricke to write a correction on a story he published concerning a statement made by Mayor de Blasio. After several back and forth emails between Fricke, editor Christopher Bedford and Spitalnick, Bedford asked Spitalnick to cease the “whiny, annoying” emails.

Spitalnick then sent an email directly to Tucker Carlson. He promised to go over the story to check for inaccuracies but added this little gem at the end:

From: Tucker Carlson
Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2015 2:58 PM
To: “Spitalnick, Amy (OMB)”
Subject: Re: Correction Needed

Dear Amy,

What Bedford complained about was your tone, which, I have to agree, was whiny and annoying, and I say that in the spirit of helpful correction rather than as a criticism. Outside of New York City, adults generally write polite, cheerful emails to one another, even when asking for corrections. Something to keep in mind the next time you communicate with people who don’t live on your island.

Best,

Tucker Carlson

Tucker cc’d a copy of his email to his brother who, when replying to Tucker, accidentally sent the email to Spitalink:

From: Buckley Carlson

Sent: Wednesday, March 25, 2015 3:18 PM

To: Tucker Carlson; Spitalnick, Amy (OMB)

Subject: Re: Correction Needed

Great response. Whiny little self-righteous bitch. “Appalling?”
And with such an ironic name, too…Spitalnick? Ironic because you just know she has extreme dick-fright; no chance has this girl ever had a pearl necklace. Spoogeneck? I don’t think so. More like LabiaFace.

Buckley Carlson

XXX-XXX-XXXX

When Buzzfeed asked Tucker Carlson to comment on his brother’s email he responded, “I just talked to my brother about his response, and he assures me he meant it in the nicest way.”

The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple reported Tucker is still “chuckling” about all the fuss.

The Carlsons’ behavior may be much ado about very little, but Saul Alinsky devotees probably don’t think so. The radical, far-left  organizer considered holding the enemy to his  own standards as an effective way to destroy him.

After all, if Buckley’s rant is okay, how can we dare criticize someone like comedian Louis CK who said this about Sarah Palin’s Down’s Syndrome child in 2011:

But when she was standing on that stage at the f…in’ convention, and holding a baby that just came out of her f…in’ disgusting @#$#@ from her retard makin’ %$#$  and she held it up, I hate her more than anybody (laughing) …She held it up and said, ‘This is really hard raising this.’ Really? It’s a baby.

Buckley Carlson and Louis CK swimming in the same misogynistic cesspool? Who would have believed it? Then there’s  Daily Caller’s founder, Fox and Friends co-anchor and editor-in-chief Tucker Carlson, chuckling about the media attention his brother’s nasty, sexually explicit emails are getting.

Does he dare write or talk about the left’s bogus claims of a ‘war on women’ now? Or how about lobbing words like ‘immoral,’ and ‘hypocritical’ at the other side in the ongoing culture wars?

The seedy side of the Carlson brothers, as revealed in their communications with Spitalnick, may not rate up there with the Hillary Clinton email scandal,  but the two men  have definitely not done genuine conservatives any favors.

About M. Catharine Evans

Brother and sister Hans and Sophie Schell, co-founder and member of White Rose, an underground student anti-Nazi group, printed flyers and pamphlets denouncing Hitler and his regime. They were arrested February 18, 1943. Both were beheaded February 22, 1943. In Sophie's cell, a guard recovered a little scrap of paper with the word "Freedom" written on it. Before he died, her brother Hans urged good people "to stand defiant before overwhelming power." And to his brother he wrote, "Remain strong--no compromises." As our representatives in the press and in DC on all sides--Republican, Independent, Democrat, Libertarian, right and left wing--cower and compromise before the evil Obama regime, real patriots speak out everywhere.
